Now How Do I Use That Free MP3 Player Again?

A quick overview tutorial

Recording on the player

Þ    Turn the player one (hold little menu button until it powers up)

Þ    Scroll down through menu to Recorder

Þ    Click white button (then it should say “ready”)

Þ    Click just above the white button (it should say “recording”)

Þ    Speak

Þ    When finished, click just below the white button (it should say “save?”)

Þ    Click the white button again to save your audio

Moving the file off the player

Þ    Hook up the short white wire (the one with USB connector) to your player

Þ    Plug into your computer

Þ    After computer recognizes the machine (the first time might take a few minutes), click on My Computer

Þ    Find Sansa M230 icon and click on it

Þ    Keep clicking until you come to the Record folder

Þ    Click on that folder and you should see files

Þ    Simply drag your audio file onto your desktop or somewhere on your computer that you will remember where it is (you may want to create a folder on you computer for Podcasts, for example)

Converting from .WAV file to .MP3 File

Þ     Use the ZamZar conversion site (http://www2.zamzar.com/) to convert from .wav to .mp3

Þ     After you upload, it will send you an email with the link to the MP3 file.

Þ     Download the MP3 file to your desktop.

Uploading to my Blog

Þ    Log into your blog and go into the Dashboard (or administration)

Þ    Go to Write, and then Write a Post

Þ    Underneath the text box window, there is a place for uploading files

Þ    Find your file by browsing, give it a name, and then upload

Þ    Once the file is there, you can either drag the title of your file into the text box or you can “send to editor” and it should appear in the text box.

Þ    Write something to go with your audio, and Publish, and your voice is out in the world.

Good Luck!
